Community participation funds a worker to be alongside you while you do the things you want to do outside the house. What that looks like is genuinely up to you: the gym, a TAFE course, the football, a volunteering shift, a mate's place, or a coffee somewhere that is not the kitchen table.

What this support includes

  • One-to-one support at activities, classes, clubs and events
  • Support to try something new and stay with it past the first week
  • Transport to and from activities, including public transport training
  • Help finding groups, classes and volunteering that actually fit
  • Support with the social side — introductions, conversation, staying in touch
  • Small-group programs where you would rather not go alone

Who pays for the activity itself?

You do. Your plan pays for the worker's time, not your gym membership, class fee or match ticket. Where a worker needs a ticket to support you at an event, that can sometimes be claimed — we will check before booking rather than after.

Can you match me with someone who likes the same things?

We try hard to. It makes a real difference to whether an activity sticks. Tell us what you are into at intake.

Can support run on weekends and evenings?

Yes. Most community participation happens outside business hours. Rates differ for evenings, weekends and public holidays under the NDIS price limits, and we will show you what that means for your budget before you commit.
